Hurray, I'm One!

Well, it's been a long year but, we finally made it. Our little Cutie Pie is now one. Aidan had a nice quiet birthday party. A few family friends and a couple of grandparents. Grandma Anita was visiting from Illinois and meeting Aidan for the first time. They had a great time playing together. Papa Smith and cousin Mikaila also came for the weekend. Our friends Robert, Julie, and Christopher Shaw also joined in for the celebration. An interesting note, Aidan and Christopher share the same birthday.

Here, Aidan and Grandma Anita are enjoying some play time on the couch.

It was a little rainy for the party. However, the weather cleared and we all decided to enjoy the patio before opening presents and eating cake, although it was a little chilly.

Christopher is speaking Aidan's language.

The best part, opening the gifts.

I think Aidan was more interested in the paper and the bag, rather than what was inside.

Aidan's first sports wear. The Shaws gave him a Red Sox hoodie and matching socks.

Aidan is very easy to please, just give the kid a card and he's a happy camper.

Grandma Smith, whom was unable to attend because she was out of town, made Aidan this adorable winter coat with matching boots and hat.

"A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go, heigh ho the dairy-o..."

Aidan likes music, so Mom and Dad gave him all kinds of instruments. Or rather, noise makers.

The xylophone is his favorite.

We got the cake from Beaverton Bakery. It was chocolate and vanilla with custard filling. Mmmmm, it was sooooo good.

Aidan doesn't usually play with food. This was the best he could manage. Looks more like a cat attacked it.

Here's a little boy who looks like he is ready for bed. Since Aidan is unable to eat solids he didn't have any sugar energy.

Aidan, Happy Birthday again. I can't believe it has been over a month since I was out for a visit. What a sweet, happy boy you are. I was so lucky -- did not get spit up on once!! Love you forever, Grandma Anita
